Happy Holidays, CLHS family!!

December is my favorite month of the year; I think because it is filled with so much light and festivities.  I always think back to my childhood, my family traditions, and the gift of being together.  December is also a whirlwind filled with activities, celebrations and semester exams.  As you can see by our December calendar, we have an athletic and/or fine arts event every week between now and December 20th.  In addition to these extracurricular activities our students will be gearing up to take their semester exams December 18-20.  We hope you’ll help us keep our Hawks focused on their academics, as December 20th marks the last day of the 9 weeks and the semester.  Additionally, the semester exam counts as 10% of the semester average.  We want every student’s grades to reflect their level of understanding of the skills taught over this past semester, which is why their focus during these next three weeks is crucial.  We also know what an incredibly important role families play in encouraging their students to achieve their highest potential. Please encourage your students to focus, study hard, and do their best this month so that they can finish strong.  Hawk Basketball is going strong and we have already had some outstanding games; our AquaHawks swim team is also doing a great job especially during this cold season! We have many band and choir students qualifying for ALL-Region and our CTE department continues to perform at the highest level at their competitions.
